Favoritism

James 2:1-4

Favoritism has been defined by the Oxford Dictionary as the practice of giving unfair preferential treatment to one person or group at the expense of another.

Favoritism has been a problem since the dawn of time. In the first family, recorded in the biblical text, the accusation of favoritism created a rift between Cain and Abel, leading Cain to murder his brother.

Favoritism is a problem today. One group or another is treated unfairly and unjustly. Scripture teaches that we are to honor others above ourselves. When we do that, favoritism falls by the wayside.

The Bible commands us to treat all equally. Join us as we gain insights from James 2:1-4 on some examples of favoritism along with some dangers of it.
