“Faith Vs. Law”

Laws exist to help define what is wrong behavior and should not be done and by that definition, also define behavior that can be done. Laws by their very nature seek to limit what is done.
God’s law in the Bible serves a similar purpose. The law set boundaries for what should not be done so that others were not mistreated or misaligned.
The law did not bring salvation and release from sin, it points it out. Freedom from sin is found through faith in Jesus. It is not a freedom to sin, but a freedom from sin. Join us we look at a comparison between faith and law as addressed in Romans 4:13-15 along with how can be set free from the bonds of the law.

Have you ever had to repeat something over and over again, feeling that the other person was never going to fully grasp what you were attempting to communicate?

But graduating from the school of faith is quite different. The diploma is not based upon how much work we do. When God diagnoses the condition of humankind, He does so from the perfection of His character. He sees all and knows all, and hence is in the best position to diagnose what each one of us needs most.
Join us this coming Sunday as we look at Romans 3:21-26, discovering God’s diagnosis along with the remedy and cure He provides.

In Search of Perfection

Are you in search of perfection? It’s not uncommon in our society to expect the best from others and even from ourselves.
We can believe that we have it all together and hold a very high view ourselves, failing to see our own imperfects.
The converse this high opinion also exists. We only see our failures and our imperfects. While we are imperfect, Jesus promises to make His perfection available to all who believe in Him.
Join us this coming Sunday as we look at Romans 3:9-20 as we discover why the search for perfection is allusive at best.

“Winning the Will Over Pride”

Many can quote what the Bible generally says in Proverbs 16:18, “Pride goes before destruction, a haughty spirit before a fall” (ESV). Most times it is shortened to say, “pride goes before a fall.”
The Bible directs us to avoid personal pride, thinking we are all that and more, but it encourages a biblical pride, being proud of the biblical teaching that we can know God and being proud that God is at work.
Join us online this coming Sunday as we discover the balanced approach toward pride as addressed in the Bible. Or, consider joining us onsite as we hear a message from author, Dr. Al Winesman.

“Not Religiosity, Righteousness”

Christianity is much more than a religion; it is a relationship with Jesus Christ.
Followers of Jesus seek to live for Jesus in response to His love and provision for them. God makes forgiveness available, offering the gift of eternal to all who choose to believe in Jesus. It is not how good a person is, it is how good God is in providing the gift of salvation available through faith.
Faith brings an internal change that reveals itself in external actions. Not being self-righteous but resting in the Savior’s righteousness as we seek to honor Him with our lives.
This Sunday, we direct our attention to Romans 2:17-29, discovering that there is no room for personal pride, but resting in God’s provision.

“The Only Accurate Judge”

If you have been called upon to judge a competition, a fellow employee, or serve as a referee or umpire for a sports event, you know how difficult it can be to judge fairly and impartially without allowing personal bias to sneak in.
Humanly speaking, we all are imperfect and are limited in our ability to judge fairly. However, Jesus is the only accurate judge. He knows all, He sees all and considers all when He is called upon to judge. He is impartial and will treat all fairly.
Join us this coming Sunday, we will look into Romans 2:12-16, discovering how Jesus will treat us equally and honestly, which is in stark contrast to how we too often judge one another.

Storing Up for the Future

Are you storing up for the future? Are you seeking to set money aside so that one day you can retire?
The Bible teaches us to store up not just for the present but for eternity, storing up treasures in heaven, where moth and rust cannot destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal. We can send riches ahead as we serve God here before we depart for heaven. God rewards those who follow Him.
This coming Sunday, we will look into Romans 2:5-11 as we discover that we are responsible to wisely use what God has given us.
