Caesar Augustus did much to advance Roman rule during his earthly reign. He expanded the kingdom, developed better roads, and ushered in an era known as the Pax Romana, Roman peace.
Caesar Augustus also played a central role in the birth of Jesus being in Bethlehem. It is doubtful is he fully knew the importance of that one decision.
As we look at Christmas through the eyes of Caesar Augustus, we find a person who was unaware of his role and unaware of the full significance of the birth of Jesus. Many to this day are not fully aware of who Jesus was and what Jesus did.

Mary was the mother of Jesus. She of all people had one of the closest connections to the birth of Jesus and all that surrounded it. She evidenced miracle upon miracle upon miracle. She knew the Messiah was coming, but wondered how such things could be.
She knew the prophecies but questioned the process. Her response was to act in faith and obedience, trusting God to do the seemingly impossible.
Miracles surround us each day. She was trusting in God to do the miraculous. We too need to learn to trust Him for the seemingly impossible.

While we sing “Joy to the World” during the Christmas season, the events leading up to the birth of Jesus were challenging for Joseph, Mary’s husband.
When Joseph found out that Marry was with child, he was faced with a difficult decision. Since the child was not his, how was he to respond? God sent an angel to give comfort and guidance to Joseph, and Joseph responded in faith to what the angel said.
Join us as we discover what Joseph experienced that reflects what we as modern-day followers of Jesus can experience as well.

In Luke 1 we find Elizabeth at a central place within the leadup to the birth of Jesus. Elizabeth was unable to bear children and was “advanced in years.” Yet, an angel of the Lord announced the good news, that she would have a child.
That child was a relative of Jesus. His name would be John, more formally known as John the Baptist. He was a forerunner of Christ, setting the stage for the Messiah’s ministry.
Join us as we discover what Elizabeth experienced that we too can experience when we trust in God to be at work.

The choices made in the Garden of Eden continue to impact us to this day.
One act of defiance marred the original inhabitants of this world and all those who followed.
What was the full impact of that sinful defiance? Why do we still struggle with it to this day? And then, how is it that we can be reborn in life?
Join us for worship this coming Sunday as we look to Romans 5:12-21, discovering how God provided for His children so that they could be reborn in faith, leading to eternal life.

Reconciliation is described as changing a relationship between two or more persons for the better. For reconciliation to occur, sacrifice is central.
The sacrifice means that it comes at a cost. Personal pride must be side aside, replaced with humility. Forgiveness is extended and grace is received.
When Jesus gave His life for humankind, it brought reconciliation between His followers and God Himself. That reconciliation is accessed through faith in Jesus, God’s Son
