“When Pilate Washed His Hands”

Matthew 24:11-26

The practice of hand washing dates back centuries. It has ceremonial and cleansing purposes along with spiritual applications that grow out of those practices.

There were some stringent rules that accompanied handwashing.  Some of those rules mirrored some of our own rules that grew out of the pandemic.

When Pilate washed his hands after the sentencing of Jesus, it had a specific meaning and purpose. While Pilate’s act symbolically released him from his responsibility in condemning an innocent man. Others were quick to accept their guilt in the process.

Join us this Sunday as we gain insight into Pilate’s act and as we see how the proceedings developed. Discover with us the sacrifice Jesus made to set us from the sin and shame of our own failings.

We meet for worship at 9:30 m. at 740 N. 129th Street along the West Dodge corridor in Omaha, Nebraska. If you are uncomfortable attending in person, check out our Facebook page, SpiritOfFaithOmaha, or our YouTube channel. Come grow with us as we seek to share the joy of knowing Jesus Christ.
