Connecting Hands Mission Statement:
Connecting together to share our stories, our time and ourselves to encourage each of us to grow in the love of Jesus Christ through acceptance, compassion, prayer and faith.
Connecting Hands grew out of the Luis Palau Festival in 2008. We had a heart for those in nursing homes and jails who were physically unable to attend the Festival, so we took the Festival to them through music, skits, and opportunities for prayer participation.
Currently, our service focuses on Douglas County Long-term Healthcare at 41st and Woolworth. We visit the residents once a month, providing worship, hymn-singing, prayer, conversation, and a craft/activity. We have been visiting our friends there for over five years. Visits are the second Sunday of each month from 1:15 to 2:15 pm.
We have ministered in the Douglas County Jail and several other nursing homes.
